The Herd   The herd at Cansford is going through some changes.  We have 13 new girls who arrived on the 5th June 2014.  These were purchased to increase the herd size and increase the milk volume produced.  Another 15 are due to arrive in July, swelling our milking herd to almost 80 cows.        More information to follow... keep watching and reading
Chrissy Calving date: 24/11/11	Chrissy I don't look much like a Jersey but it is thought that this is due to a recessive gene from the Alderney Breed which became extinct around the 1940's.  I am strippy! We'll have to wait and see if my calf turns out strippy as she grows up, some of my other calves have been but they were all bull calves.
